It seems the rest of the developed world now race horses on much softer turf or grass race courses. As a result in places like Australia, UK, New Zealand etc….we have far fewer injuries and less of a problem with horses breaking down afterwards or having to be destroyed because they broke their ankles or fetlocks on such a dirt hard surface. Just like the runner up at last weekends Kentucky Derby, why can’t America stop being so cruel to its Race Horses ? Run on grass or turf why don’t you!

I watched a race at this track on sunday, and witnessed
a horse running, but it didn’t look like anything i’d seen before.
Its colour was more akin to a western film than a race track in the UK. The horse in question was called Honeypot Spleda.

It had the initials Sk where you’d find the colour i.e. B =bay
Gr= grey Ch = chestnut. What is the official colour of this type of horse.

Online bookmakers only seem to offer “each way” bets on UK horse races. I know betting exchanges like Betfair & Betdaq do “place only” bets but cant find any bookmakers that do them.
