I.sotope asked:

In the UK, how do you go about getting a horse racing training license?

I’m currently studying for an equine degree so will have relevant experience, would I have to do some kind of course or just take a test, and where/how do you take this test? Or is it simply a case of applying?

This can be a long and hard process, firstly have you got your own stables, care centre for injured horses, money to run, feed and keep the stables going, training tracks? If you live near a trainer you should ask them what they had to go through to get one. I have been to JackDaws in Cheltenham which is magnificent but do you want to be a jumps or flat trainer or even both? For further information on how to get a license though you should check out brs.org.uk for more information, good luck in you career and if this helps I want some tips when you are number 1 trainer! lol

Thought the BHB is either bring or has brought in some course all new trainers had to go on..Surely your college will know..Having a good bunch of owners,or a very rich patron must make all the difference..
