for those who dont agree with a complete ban, do you think the races should be less strenuous on the horses and they should remove the jumps?
ianedwards..if there was no horse racing , there would be no need for a highly regarded retired stallion to be used to sire hundreds of horses every year…which in itself is further proof of the cruelty invovled. Many die from exhaustion after beign used like this.
horses in the wild would only have a foal once every 2 years
smokehillfarm…most if not all the horse racing tracks in ireland and the UK have jumps to make the race more ‘exciting’ for viewers. I am aware of the difference between a race and showjumping. Im talking horse racing in general, not just the kentucky derby.

This part of middlsex uk was once part of a horse racing stud where the famous racehorse ‘Eclipse’ lived and finally died.
could these slabs have been used as part of a weighing machine for horses.

Finally….Deer Hunting…This sport pisses me off. How can some Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia or West Virginia red neck go and blow defenseless bambi’s brains out and get to hang the head on the wall? They seldom eat the animal. Where are the animal rights activists for this?

cheers jaqui,kings appostle where did he come from i had 2nd 3rd 4th and 5th layed all the other horses and broke even coz of kings appostle 12-1 ouch.jaqui did you see the jockey performance on benbaun,it has to be one of the worst unbalanced rides i have seen terrible jockey.still always tomorrow,anyone got any views on MONTR ALTO for the cambrideshire,and a double for monday please folks. cheers.
