Please could someone tell me how the following speed experts (Timeform; Raceforms Split Second and Racing Posts Topspeed) work out their speed ratings and more importantly if they are adjusted so that they work on the same basis as the Official Ratings. Thank you.

I’ve not found anywhere that fulfils the following criteria

1. When you click on the site it does not take ages to upload - I don’t have access to a supa doopa pc and so even though informative sites are there I need to find one that is quick to upload and one that makes it easy to go from page to page, link to link

and

2. I want not only to know information on the times, racetracks and dates of the races, and info on runners form, owners and the jockeys etc but importantly the type of race - ie is it a handicap, maiden, novice etc race. Many sites (including incidentally the BBC Sports horse racing pages - which I think is surprising) only give you the time of the race - but not the name of the race.

The best I have seen so far is attheraces.com but it does not have on one single page with an “at-a-glance” list of the races (including the race names). if it had that it would be fine.

So would value suggestions

I’ve just read that over a hundred horses have died in the last year during horse racing (UK.)
Am I missing something here? Surely if we took another animal, dogs for example, and started involving them in some sport where some end up dying, I can’t see anyone accepting this.
Just seems to me that despite the fact that this many horses perish in the name of sport, generally it’s seen as just a bit of fun.
